Budapest (as any other bigger cities) is changing always, that's way I have decided to make a blog and not a website. So it will be easier to keep you up-to-date. For me any other city but especially Budapest is a fusion of history, culture, gastronomy and of course the people living in the city. So every now and then I will post articles about those topics.

History 

Budapest has a reach history. Budapest is divided by the Danube into two parts: we have the hilly and more residential Buda part and the (almost) completely flat Pest side with more shopping and outgoing facilities. Two centuries ago when we did not have any bridges the two parts were separated and we had actually three independent parts: Buda, Óbuda (Old Buda, today District III) and Pest. Finally in 1873 those three parts got united and as a result Budapest was born.

During the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867-1918) Budapest changed a lot: almost all of the historical buildings were built during that period. After this development and expansion the city lived through dark times almost during the rest of the 20th century (two world wars, 40 years of communism).

After the change of regime Budapest has became accessible again, has changed a lot and there are some positive trends to notice. Instead of the quantity the quality dominates, more and more people are cycling in the city and slowly even the mentality started to change.

For me today's Budapest is a very liveable and likeable city. Hungarians do love complaining about everything. I think instead of complaining we should appreciate what we already achieved and I truly hope that together we can make it even better.

Culture 

If you are up to cultural events, you won't got bored in Budapest. We have plenty of thermal baths, theatres, cinemas, and there are some really nice places for concerts as well (it can be a classical, jazz or even contemporary one).

At the turn of the century the inhabitants of Budapest were very elegant and they loved cultural events: that's why the city has more theatres and cinemas than actually is needed. In the downtown it is easy to find a small theatre or art movie cinema on every corner. I can only recommend them: a unique Budapest experience.   

Otherwise we have several festivals during the whole year. The most famous one is unquestionably the Sziget festival, but this is only one of many. I am sure that you can find something you are interested in: we have festivals connected to wine, beer, food, gastronomy, music, etc.

Gastronomy 

I will try to make a kind of gastro blog as well: I do love eating and drinking well. Thanks God it is quite easy in Budapest. In the last decades there is a positive trend in the capital city, even with a lower budget you can find nice places to eat.    

What we eat today in Hungary it is connected to our history: as Hungary used to be always a melting pot of different nations we have a very mixed cuisine. You will experience it. Hungary has also 22 wine regions and in the recent years many of the Hungarian wines has become well known even at international level. There must be always time for a glass of good wine...

Locals (and non locals) 

I will try to introduce you even some locals to bring Budapest closer to you.  I have many friends in the city and I do know so many smart people who are really worth to talk with: they have so many ideas and innovations that sometimes it is really not easy to follow them.

I have many non-local friends (also from other countries). It might be interesting to listen to their opinion as well: how they are feeling here as non-Hungarians.

Budapest (wie alle anderen größeren Städten) ändert sich immer, deswegen habe ich die Entscheidung getroffen, eher einen Blog zu schreiben als eine Website zu machen. So wird es leichter, Sie up-to-date zu halten. Meiner Meinung nach ist eine Stadt (in diesem Fall Budapest) eine Mischung von Geschichte, Kultur, Gastronomie und natürlich von den Menschen, die da leben. So werden Sie in diesem Blog vor allem über diese Themen lesen können.

Geschichte

Budapest hat eine reiche Geschichte. Budapest wird von der Donau in zwei Teile geteilt: Wir haben das hügelige Buda (vor allem Wohngebiet) und die (fast) komplett flache Pester Seite mit mehr Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Nachtleben. Vor zwei Jahrhunderten als wir keine Brücken hatten, die Stadt war ganz getrennt. Damals hatten wir eigentlich drei unabhängige Teile: Buda, Óbuda (Altes Buda, heute Bezirk III) und Pest. Schließlich im Jahre 1873 diese drei Teile wurden vereinigt und so ist Budapest geboren.

Während der österreichisch-ungarischen Monarchie (1867-1918) Budapest veränderte viel: Fast alle der historischen Gebäude wurden in dieser Zeit gebaut. Nach dieser Entwicklungsperiode erlebte die Stadt dunklere Zeiten fast bis zum Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts (zwei Weltkriegen, 40 Jahre Kommunismus).

Nach der Wende Budapest war wieder zugänglich und seitdem entwickelte sich die Stadt viel, es gibt positive Tendenzen zu bemerken. Anstelle der Menge dominiert die Qualität, es gibt immer mehr Fahrräder zu sehen und langsam ändert sich auch die Mentalität. 

Für mich ist die heutige Budapest eine sehr lebenswerte und liebeswerte Stadt. Die meisten Ungar beschweren sich fast immer über alles. Ich denke, wir sollten einfach besser schätzen können, was wir haben. Und ich hoffe, dass wir es gemeinsam noch besser machen können.

Kultur

Wenn Sie gerne an kulturellen Veranstaltungen teilnehmen, werden Sie sich in Budapest nicht langweilen. Budapest verfügt über viele Thermalbäder, Theatern, Kinos, und es gibt gute Möglichkeiten für verschiedene Konzerte (z.B. Klassik, Jazz oder zeitgenössisch).

Gegen die Jahrhundertwende waren die Einwohner von Budapest sehr elegant und kulturverbunden: So können Sie verstehen warum die heutige Stadt mehrere Theater und Kinos hat als tatsächlich benötigt wird. In der Innenstadt ist es sehr einfach, ein kleines Theater oder ein art movie Kino an jeder Ecke zu finden. So etwas ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert: eine einzigartige Budapest Erlebnis. Außerdem haben wir mehrere Festivals während des ganzen Jahres. Der bekannteste ist zweifellos das Sziget-Festival, aber das ist nur eins von vielen. Andere Möglichkeiten: Budapest Weihnachtsmarkt, Frühlingsfestival, Pálinka Festival, verschiedene Wein-, Bier- und Gastrofestivalen.   

Gastronomie

Ich werde versuchen, in meinem Blog auch die ungarische Gastronomie darzustellen. Ich esse und trinke gerne etwas Gutes. Und Sie? Gott sei Dank ist es ganz einfach in Budapest. In den letzten Jahrzehnten gibt es einen positiven Trend in der Hauptstadt, auch mit einem relativ niedrigeren Budget können Sie gute Restaurante finden.

Was in Ungarn heutzutage gegessen wird hat natürlich auch mit der Geschichte zu tun: Ungarn war früher ein Schmelztiegel von verschiedenen Nationen, so haben wir so eine gemischte Küche. Das werden Sie erleben. Ungarn hat 22 Weinregionen und in den letzten Jahren viele der ungarischen Weine wurden auch auf internationaler Ebene anerkannt. Wir sollten immer Zeit finden um ein gutes Glas Wein genießen zu können...

Einheimische (und nicht Einheimische)

Ich werde versuchen, Ihnen sogar einige Einheimische vorzustellen um Budapest näher zu bringen. Ich habe viele Freunde in der Stadt und ich kenne so viele intelligente Menschen, mit denen es sich lohnt zu sprechen: Sie haben viele gute Ideen und Innovationen, so ist Budapest in den letzten Jahren immer mehr dynamischer geworden.  

Ich habe viele nicht-einheimischen Freunden (auch aus anderen Ländern). Es könnte auch interessant sein, ihre Meinung ebenso mitzuteilen: Wie sie sich hier als Nicht-Ungar fühlen.  

Versione italiana

Budapest (come tutte le altre città più grandi) sta cambiando sempre, per questo motivo ho deciso di fare un blog invece di un sito web. Così sarà più facile tenervi aggiornati. Per me qualsiasi altra città, ma soprattutto Budapest è una fusione di storia, cultura, gastronomia e naturalmente delle persone che ci vivono. In questo blog potrete leggere sopratutto su questi argomenti.

Storia

Budapest ha una storia molto ricca. Budapest è divisa tramite il Danubio in due parti: abbiamo la parte più residenziale sulle colline di Buda e la parte (quasi) completamente piatta Pest con più negozi e con una vitta notturna molto più intensa. Due secoli fa, quando non abbiamo avuto alcun ponte tra le due parti, abbiamo avuto in realtà tre parti separate indipendenti: Buda, Óbuda (Vecchia Buda - oggi Distretto III) e Pest. Infine nel 1873 queste tre parti si sono uniti e di conseguenza nacque Budapest.

Durante l'Impero austro-ungarico (1867-1918) Budapest è cambiata molto: quasi tutti gli edifici storici sono stati costruiti in quel periodo. Dopo questo sviluppo e l'espansione la città ha vissuto dei momenti meno piacevoli durante quasi tutto il resto del 20 ° secolo (due guerre mondiali, 40 anni di comunismo).

Dopo il cambiamento di regime Budapest è diventata nuovamente accessibile, è cambiata molto di nuovo e ci sono alcune tendenze positive da notare. Invece della quantità domina la qualità, sempre più persone usano la bicicletta in città e lentamente anche la mentalità ha cominciato a cambiare.

Per me Budapest di oggi è una città molto vivibile ed amabile. Gli ungheresi si lamentano di tutto. Secondo me invece di lamentarsi dovremmo apprezzare quello che abbiamo e spero davvero che insieme possiamo fare ancora di meglio.

Cultura

Se vi piacciono gli eventi culturali, non vi annoiate a Budapest. Abbiamo un sacco di terme, teatri, cinema, e ci sono alcuni posti molto carini per concerti (musica classica, jazz o anche quella contemporanea).

Alla fine del secolo gli abitanti di Budapest erano molto eleganti e hanno adorato gli eventi culturali: è per questo che la città ha più teatri e cinema che in realtà sarebbe necessario. Nel centro della città è facile trovare un piccolo teatro o un cinema d'arte (art movie cinema) ad ogni angolo. Posso solo raccomandare visitarli: un'esperienza unica di Budapest.

Se questo non vi basta, abbiamo diversi festival durante tutto l'anno. Il più famoso è senza dubbio il festival Sziget, ma questo è solo uno dei tanti. Sono sicuro che potrete trovare qualcosa che vi interessa: ci sono delle feste collegate al vino, alla birra, al cibo, alla gastronomia, alla musica, ecc.

Gastronomia

Cercherò di fare una sorta di gastro blog: a me piace mangiare e bere bene. Grazie a Dio questo è abbastanza facile a Budapest. Negli ultimi decenni c'è una tendenza positiva nella capitale, anche con un budget inferiore si possono trovare dei bei posti per mangiare.

Ciò che mangiamo oggi in Ungheria è collegato alla nostra storia: grazie alla sua posizione geografica l'Ungheria era sempre un corridoio tra diverse nazioni. Grazie a questo fatto abbiamo una cucina molto varia. Da provare. L'Ungheria ha anche 22 regioni vinicole e negli ultimi anni molti dei vini ungheresi sono diventati ben noti anche a livello internazionale. Bisogna trovare sempre tempo per un bel bicchiere di vino ...

I locali (e non locali)

Cercherò di presentarvi anche alcuni locali per portare Budapest (ancora) più vicino a voi. Ho molti amici in città e quasi ogni giorno vedo tante persone intelligenti con cui veramente vale la pena di parlare: alcune hanno molte idee e innovazioni che portano Budapest sempre più avanti.

Ho anche molti amici non locali (anche da altri paesi). Parlare con loro potrebbe essere una cosa interessante, secondo a loro parere possiamo avere un'idea come si vive qui venendo da un altro paese.
